In year 1914 Sarajevo was the place of assasination on Archduke Frantz Fedinand and his wife Sofia, which was the event that triggered World War I.
70 years later, in 1984, Sarajevo was the host of XXIV Winter Olymic Games, it was the time when athletes from all over the world came to Sarajevo. Few years later, in 1992, Sarajevo was the subject of the longest siege in modern warfare.
