The City of Travnik was the capital of the Bosnian Pashaluk for 150 years, the residence of 77 viziers, seat of two consulates and it is positioned in the heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Travnik lays south of Vlašić Mountain. The city is rich in cultural and historical tradition and the locals call it a city museum in the open. Travnik The Viziers City is one of the best preserved cities and has 28 protected cultural and historic buildings in the area of which most are active and open for visitors and over all of them stands the great Medieval Fortress of Travnik. Travnik is the birth place of a Nobel prize winner – Ivo Andrić and his home is now a museum open to the public. The city offers a deep and varied history right in its streets and monuments.
